convictions are strong, I seem to have the stamina to keep up;
- writing creatively on a consistent basis
- exercising regularly
- reading regularly
some other facts:
- eating lots of guacamole and chips
- pursuing english teaching in south korea
- playing frisbee golf at least twice a week
- smash brothers brawl continues to be the room mate activity of choice

a feeble desperate cry for broken hearts
if poverty is freedom, than I am in chains
if Love means suffering, then am a wealthy flaunt amongst the beggers,
and parade my health in a hospital ward
if living means dying, then daddy walk with me in hand to the bridge
cause I can't bear to be alive
and don't think there's room in this clay for such hypocrisy
"unless you can part my ribs like the sea
and make stone beat, then there's no hope for me
unless the east never meets the west
unless you set my sin between your shoulderblades
and forget
part my ribs like the sea and change me
'cause stone doesn't beat
and rock hearts don't pump anything
but I've grown not to mind because at least
stone doesn't sling like blood
or spill like guts across the floor
where the bloodsuckers want more and more and more"

the treacherous selection machine
All the workers in their cages
Plagued with latency
With their names written on the pages
Anticipate the day of their destiny
When they will be picked by the authority
To become what they were meant to be.
I still hear the howls, and the screams
Of those ignored
25 years, some far more
It seems that they weren’t all written on the pages
…it seems they weren’t all meant to be.
They fight to believe
Knowing it takes just as much effort to fear
An indolent fate
And they pray for the day of sweet escape
From the cages by the authority.

porn in america
http://www.ajc.com/business/content/business/stories/2009/01/08/flynt_porn_bailout.html
Though it seems this is partially a publicity stunt to make a statement at the ridiculousness of auto industry, and financial industry bailout requests. I would not be surprised if congress granted the $5 billion request
...
“It’s painfully obvious that our sneaky financial connections just aren’t sneaky enough to avoid getting caught these days,” said former president Clinton, speaking to the press from his New York office, a combination Hooters and massage parlor. “On the other hand, the porn people I’m close to have channeled contributions of all kinds of cash and prizes to me over the years. And they’re mostly legal and almost nobody cares. It’s time the DNC recognizes that the porn industry’s support is our best bet for consistent, under-the-table funding that works. Hey, we’re all grown ups here. What did people think was going on with my fundraisers in the Lincoln Bedroom during my two terms? Cash and sex is what makes politics work in today’s world.” - inebrieted press, Jan 2008

(on a side note this is one reason I have such a hard time voting for democrats)
If congress will not regulate gas prices with ceilings because the oil companies lobby and fund political campaigns...what does that mean the democrats are doing for the porn industry, if this industry is also funding their campaigns?
righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to all people.

The city’s twilight: suburbia's goodbye
The Lights gleam and autos roar
We are nameless
Just strangers lost in the crowd
Though we’ve always been known before
Twilight in the city is far from
The suburbs we used to know
Colonial houses, monotonous yards.
Apartment complexes
And white picket fences.
With parking garages
at least 10 miles from the freeway
Which may or may not have cars.
And street musicians
Never see
The mothers dropping kids off at school
And homeless drunks
Now the norm.
Strip malls and patches of forest
Now dives, and a concrete slabs
A nightlife never once before.
And the desert children ponder,
They always wonder
What goes on the south side of the mountains
After dusk
where freeways choke
when 12 strikes the 4
until 8
4 ticks more.
They’ll never know,
Until they grow tired
Tired of window glaring
Tired of being caged
In the sea of identical
And want to move on
And become alive.

so far, in 2009, word of the day is losing its reputation.
today's word: abstinence. Yesterday's word: zealous. Really? i learned those two words in elementary school. What happened to the good days of words like: Tetchy, pusillanimous, or brobdingnagian
LA is fun, i think its over though. Its time to move on and do something more with myself.
I ate a nectarine today. along with salad. I am trying to eat healthier.
I am:
tired of not having stable work.
tired of sitting in front of a computer today
hoping and praying Korea will work out in March.
loving hot chip's the warning cd
missing amanda, wishing she was with me
missing mom and dad -- more than usual for being out of their house for 5 years.
wishing i was a better writer.
going to make a phone call.
end.
